The smoothing tool is used to reach any areas which our fingers don’t quite fit. It’s excellent for smoothing joins, backfilling handles and perfectly doubles up as a scratching tool for sgraffito and inlay.

That’s what this tool is designed to do, though it can be used for a lot more than that.. The pointed ends work well for scratching, so whether you need to scratch and slurry, mark make for inlay or sgraffito, or simply sign the bottoms of your pots, this tool has excellent multipurpose functions!
